Harmonic division works like this: take a planet's longitude in the birth chart, divide by segment size, determine which sub-division it falls into, map to corresponding sign.

Example: Venus at 15°30' Aries in D1 birth chart.

For Navamsa (D9), each sign divides into 9 parts of 3°20' each.

15°30' divided by 3°20' = 4.65, round down = 5th segment.

Aries is sign 1, so we count: 1st segment = Aries (sign 1), 2nd = Taurus (sign 2), 3rd = Gemini (sign 3), 4th = Cancer (sign 4), 5th = Leo (sign 5).

So Venus in D9 falls in Leo.

This is repeated for ALL planets in ALL charts - each chart uses different divisor.

D10 divides by 10 (3° segments), D7 by 7 (4°17' segments), D12 by 12 (2°30' segments).

Some charts like D60 have super tiny segments (0°30' each = 30 arc-minutes) - requiring precise birth time to arc-second accuracy.
